Saturday morning, nearly fifteen hundred people gathered at John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville, and prepared to "plunge" themselves into the Susquehanna river.
This was the most attended, and with the wind-chill factored in, the coldest-ever polar plunge in York County.
All proceeds from the event benefit the York County Special Olympics. Event organizers estimate that before expenses $140,000 had been raised.
