HARRISBURG -- Cedar Cliff rising senior and Penn State recruit Adam Breneman, the nation's top high school tight end, has a torn ACL and will miss the upcoming season.

He told CBS 21 News Sports Director Jason Bristol he will "likely" now enroll at Penn State early. If he does, he would attend Penn State in this Spring, rather than in the Fall of 2013.

He injured the knee Thursday during a 7-on-7 game. He had an MRI done this morning, which showed a tear.

The website VictoryBellRings.com first reported the injury.

Breneman gave a verbal commitment to the Nittany Lions in March, choosing Penn State over Ohio State, Notre Dame and Maryland.
