JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - The return of the NHL forced a minor league hockey team to put a charity game involving some Pittsburgh Penguins on ice.

The Johnstown Tomahawks had been scheduled to hold its "Charity Classic" on Wednesday night. Penguins forwards Chris Kunitz and Matt Cooke were scheduled to serve as captains on teams that would have included other Penguins and members of the North American Hockey League club.

The team said in a statement it would provide full refunds and apologized for the inconvenience.

Cooke also apologized in the statement and cited the NHL season is expected to start Jan. 19 following a lengthy lockout. A tentative deal was reached over the weekend.

Cooke said players would look for other opportunities to help the Pittsburgh Kids Foundation and the Johnstown community.
