HARRISBURG -- Can the Harrisburg Heat knock off the hottest team in professional sports history?

The San Diego Sockers arrived in town Thursday night for Friday's game against Harrisburg at the PA Farm Show Complex -- and the Sockers brought their 47-game winning streak with them.

The Sockers' win streak is the longest in the history of U.S. professional sports, minor or major league. San Diego (10-0) passed the previous mark of 40 set by Sioux Falls of United Indoor Football (2005-2008) earlier this season.

If the team feels any pressure to keep winning, you can't tell.

"We don't really think about (the streak)," said Ze Roberto, the San Diego defender who once played for the original Harrisburg Heat. "We just step on the field and do the things we know we can do."

Friday's game begins at 7:05 pm.

Harrisburg beat Detroit last Saturday 9-6 to improve to 4-7 in the Professional Arena Soccer League.

The Sockers haven't lost since Dec. 27, 2010; when they dropped a 9-8 overtime decision to the California Cougars. Their winning streak began two days later with a 7-5 victory against the San Diego Fusion.
