BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Maggie Lucas scored 17 points and Mia Nickson had a double-double as No. 11 Penn State defeated Virginia Tech 60-41 Wednesday night in a nonconference contest.

Lucas was 7 of 9 from the field, supporting a Nittany Lions' offense that shot just 38.3 percent (23 of 60) from the field. The reigning Big Ten Player of the Week was coming off a career-high 39 points in Penn State's 97-74 win over Georgetown on Sunday.

Nickson had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Dara Taylor had 15 points and Alex Bentley 10 points, five steals and four assists for Penn State (8-2).

Monet Teller led the Hokies (4-4) with 18 points, including an 8 of 9 showing from the foul line.

Penn State led 28-21 at halftime, opened the second on a 10-5 run and backed it with an 8-0 run minutes later to take a 41-28 lead on Lucas' 3-pointer.
