YORK -- Atlantic League All-Star infielder Andres Perez will return to the York Revolution, the team announced Friday.

York has also signed catcher Patrick Arlis. The team now has seven players under contract for this season.

Perez ranked fourth in the league in batting average (.314), home runs (23), hits (161) and runs scored (86). He was also tied for fourth in doubles (35), fifth in RBI (86) and slugging percentage (.529), while leading the league in total bases (271) and tying for third in extra-base hits (61).

"'Dre' is one of the best hitters I've ever coached or seen," said new manager Mark Mason in a statement. "He also worked extremely hard on a daily basis to become a better defensive player. By the end of the year, I believe he was the most improved player in the league."

Perez, 28, began his professional career in 2007 after signing with the New York Yankees.

Arlis, 32, is an eleven-year pro who has reached Triple-A level with both the Miami Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers organizations, respectively.

He was originally drafted by the Marlins in 2002 from the University of Illinois.
