Here's the Super Bowl dilemma for Steelers fans, they can't pull for their hated rival but another 49ers championship knocks Pittsburgh off the pedestal.
The San Francisco 49ers are gunning for the 6th Super Bowl championship in franchise history, that would tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most of any NFL team. It's the one and only reason some local members of Steelers Nation are considering pulling for their division rival.
Valerie Hartman is perplexed. "I can't root for the Ravens, but we don't want the 49ers to get that extra ring either."
Even now the heartbeat of Steelers Nation is alive and well at the American Legion Post 751 in Enola, an official Steelers fan club.
Mike Torner isn't shy about how this season wrapped up.
"Yes, it was a terrible season."
Mike, however, is not switching sides he's taking a very optimistic approach as he pulls for the 49ers on Sunday.
"Hey it gives the Steelers motivation to go for number seven next year."
At Motor-Vation in Mechanicsburg, you'll find horsepower a lot faster than you'll find any "purple power".
Salesman Aaron Spencer says it would take a serious cash prize for him to even think about siding with the Ravens.
"If there was a way to inherit money from that win." Mike says as his laughter fills the showroom.
Dixie Miller says she's the dilemma has her torn. She paused for a moment and then announced her allegiance to the Baltimore Ravens....for one day.
Finally, someone who bleeds black and gold, willing to keep their fandom within in the division. After some careful thought, Dixie decided to backtrack.
"When it gets down to the nitty gritty who's ever winning at that point, I'm doing the switcheroo."
