Wednesday's attack on a 22-year-old woman makes 3 unsolved attacks since November in Carlisle.
Police say the Dickinson College student was walking off-campus on Mooreland Avenue around 7:30pm when she was grabbed from behind and pulled into an alley. She was able to escape and call police.
This attempted sexual assault follows an attack a few weeks ago at a nearby laundromat. That woman was raped.
Both women said their attacker was a black male, but police quickly found many things did not match in the two descriptions.
Last November, another woman reported being attacked by a white male on West High Street. Police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Police are telling women not to walk alone when possible, especially at night.
