The Road to Victory for Marques Colston ended with a Super Bowl championship.
Colston, the Susquehanna Township product who has developed into one of the NFL's best receivers, helped the New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, Florida.
"Its amazing," said Takia Colston, Marques' sister from the Colston home in Dauphin County. "Its something Marques has always dreamed of. We all believed in him."
Takia Colston clenched a photo of her mother and late father and wept during the final moments of the game. Her father James died of a heart attack in 1997.
"Its not even about of us," she added. "Its so much bigger than the just the Saints. Its so much bigger than the just the team. Its about dreams being achieved."
CBS 21 News was the only local station to be with Colston's family and friends when New Orleans won the Super Bowl.
With the exception of Takia Colston, much of Marques' immediate family was at Sun Life Stadium for the game.
The family contingent arrived at Harrisburg International Airport Friday at 5:30 am for its 7:00 am flight to Miami. Marques' mother Josie; brothers Stephen, James, and Kenny; as well as uncle Otis Martin and a nephew all arrived in Florida at around noon.
Colston was the Saints' leading receiver in Super Bowl XLIV; catching seven balls for 83 yards. His longest pass play was a 27-yard catch and run in the second quarter.
