CALIFORNIA -- A mother in California has filed a discrimination complaint with the state after she says a school district didn't allow her to breastfeed her baby -- and took it even further by punishing her older son.

Rachel Rainbolt said that back in April, she was nursing her one-year-old in front of a female teacher during a private meeting with her eight-year-old son.

"She turned to me and said, 'That was not appropriate. Do you know what a breast feeding cover is? That's not appropriate to do here. Aren't you concerned that people will stare?," Rainbolt said.

She added that the next day she got a call from the district saying her 8-year-old son couldn't attend a monthly group presentation class because of the incident.

She's now organizing a "nurse-in" outside the district's headquarters, and hopes to get dozens of women to breastfeed there next Wednesday.Breastfeeding mother claims discrimination; stages nurse-in
