HARRISBURG – Gov. Tom Corbett today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags at the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities statewide lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in honor of Patriot Day.

Pennsylvania flags, which were lowered last week in honor of the late Rep. Dick Hess (R-Bedford), are to remain at half-staff until sunset Tuesday, Sept. 10, the day of his funeral.

U.S. flags are to fly at full-staff during this period, but to be lowered on Wednesday in honor of Patriot Day.

Patriot Day was established to remember those who died or were injured during the terrorist attacks in the United States on Sept. 11, 2001.

All Pennsylvanians are invited to join in this tribute.
