HARRISBURG -- A Lancaster County man was sentenced today to more than four years in prison on a host of child pornography charges.

Edward Kipp, 66, pled guilty on March 21 to the sole count of the indictment, which was possessing more than 30,000 images and 120 movies which depicted minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

He was arrested in 2009, after the investigation began in 2006.

Prosecutors argued, "His repeated payment for access to websites selling images of child pornography shows his rapacious appetite for the sexual exploitation of children." Prosecutors had argued for the court to impose a sentence on the high end of the calculated sentencing guideline range of 78 to 97 months.

The sentencing hearing was held today. He was sentenced to 48 months in prison, five years' supervised release, $100 special assessment, forfeiture of his computer, computer monitor once he is released.

He has a surrender date of Nov. 15.Lancaster man sentenced on child porn charges
