Man arrested for Lancaster Co. burglaries

State Police have arrested a man in connection with burglaries in Lancaster County.

Police say William Harrison Rehm III, allegedly broke in to a home on Smithville Road in Providence Township sometime between August 18th and August 25th. Police say he is accused of burglarizing the same home between August 31st and September 2nd. Officials say the property stolen valued at $25,000.

Police say after burglarizing the home on Smithville Road, Rehm left an apology note to the homeowners.

Rehm is also accused of breaking into a  home on Bethesda Church Road in Martic Township, on November 9th and 10th. Police say $5,000 worth of items were stolen from this home.

On September 10th, a neighbor near the home in Martic Township reported suspicious activity. Police spotted Rehm and chased him on foot after he fled.

Rehm was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary and theft, one count of fight to avoid apprehension, one count of criminal mischief and one count of theft by deception.

Rehm was taken to Lancaster County Prison on $50,000 bail.

State Police have recovered several items from the burglaries and are inviting the victims to come view the items on September 12th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., September 13th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and September 14th from 6 to 12.
