Updated: Monday, September 16 2013, 11:26 AM CDT
A 29-year-old man from Harrisburg is facing charges after a fight at a midget football game.

North Middleton Township Police were called to the Carlisle Midget Football game at Village park for a large fight on September 15th. Police say an off-duty State Trooper was at the game and tried to break up a fight between two cheerleaders.

The trooper told officers the cheerleader would not stop fighting, even after he identified himself as a state trooper. He allegedly tried to take her into custody and witnesses tried to pull the Trooper away from the cheerleader.

Witnesses say the Trooper was attacked by a relative of the cheerleader and thrown to the ground. The male stated he did not care after, after the trooper stated who he was.

After being attacked, police say the trooper took the male into custody at gun point.

Damien Jones, 29, of Harrisburg  was taken to Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment on aggravated assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
