A Schuylkill County man is facing charges after police found $15,000 worth of bath salts during a traffic stop.

On September 6th, officers from several police departments conducted a saturation patrol in Ashland Borough, Frackville Borough, Mahanoy Plane, Girardville and Gilberton.

During the patrol, a stop was made for a vehicle code violation. The vehicle was operated by Mark Stump, 27, of  Mount Carmel.

Police say Stump's passenger, Kevin Clews, 33, of Ashland, was in possession of substances in the vehicle marked Magnesium Sulfate Hydrated, which is commonly referred to as “Bath Salts”.

Police say Clews had 375 grams of bath salts, valuing at $15,000.

Clews was taken to Schuylkill County Prison and committed on a probation violation. He will be charged with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stump was cited for the vehicle code violation and released.
