HARRISBURG -- The Dauphin County Election Board reminds residents that they have until Monday, Oct. 7 to register to vote for the upcoming municipal election.

“The municipal primary election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, but election officials will begin preparing voter lists to distribute to the 159 polling places in Dauphin County in late October,” said Commissioner Mike Pries, who chairs the Election Board. “To make sure that your name is on the list and that your voice is heard during this municipal election, do not delay.”

To register for the upcoming primary, an individual must be: A United States citizen for at least one month prior to the November 5 election; a resident of Pennsylvania and the election district for at least 30 days prior to the election; and/or at least 18 years of age on or before Nov. 5.

Offices that will appear on the ballot this year include state and county court judges; county prothonotary and coroner; city and borough mayors, council members; township supervisors and commissioners; tax collectors and auditors; and all judges of election and inspectors.

Voter registration and civilian absentee ballot forms, as well as a list of polling places, can be found on www.DauphinCounty.org.Oct 7 is deadline to register to vote
