CBS 21 was a proud sponsor of the 2013 Transportation Briefing on Monday morning, along with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC.

Brad Mallory, from the State Department of Transportation talked about the crisis facing our state roads and bridges.

Pennsylvania infrastructure is in need of repair, but the estimated cost to fix the problem statewide is about $1.8 to $2.5 billion.

"We're not talking interstate bridges, we're talking about going over the Swatara Creek, to get from point a to point b. Our school buses go over them on a daily basis and we the ones we drive to work.  These are the bridges in the most need," said Chris Black.

Proposals to raise money to fix our roads in bridges include paying an additional gas tax-- and increasing drivers license and vehicle registration fees.PA State bridges a hot topic at Transportation briefing
