York Area Regional Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery at the Susquehanna Bank on South Queen Street in York.

The robbery happened on Friday around 2:30 p.m.  The suspect failed to gain entrance to the bank due to alert bank employees, police say.

The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot to an open filed to the rear of the bank. The suspect is described as a white male, around 5'10" tall with a thin build. He is approximately 20-25 years in age and was wearing a black "hoodie", jean shorts and red sneakers. He was also carrying a backpack and a blue bandana mask.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact York Area Regional Police at 717-741-1259.
