YORK -- Police in York County say a pair of women and a man got away with an entire display of jeans from a local department store.

Springettsbury Township Police say they were contacted by JCPenny managers about a reported theft. When loss prevention officers arrived, they discovered there had been two different thefts.

In total, more than $5,000 worth of Levis were stolen.  Police say the first theft happened on Aug. 19 around 6:30 p.m. Two women and a male reportedly stole an entire display of Levi Jeans from the JCPenny's store.

Three days later, on Aug. 21, the same two women are believed to have returned to the store and taken several more pairs of jeans.

York Galleria management declined to comment, saying it was now a police matter.

Springettsbury Township Police ask anyone with information about the thefts to contact them at 757-3525.
