UPDATED 2:45 P.M.

CHAMBERSBURG -- Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School is no longer on lock-down, according to police.

CBS 21's Kyle Rogers was at a press conference police held earlier this afternoon.

Police said that a Florida man, identified as Williams Daniels, came to the Chambersburg area with the intent to kidnap a woman. She got away from him unharmed, but the attempted kidnapping, which took place in the area of the school, spurred the lock-down.

It has since been lifted, and although police are still searching for the man, there is no longer an active, on-going manhunt.

A gun was found in the woods, but it is unknown at this time if the gun is related to the attempted kidnapping. The elementary school is near a hunting preserve.

Police believe the man may have left the area.

CHAMBERSBURG -- An active manhunt is on-going in Chambersburg after a man was involved in an altercation with a woman.

There are reports that Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School, 800 Hollywood Ave., is on lock-down.
