Window washer rescued from Harrisburg building

Updated: Wednesday, September 25 2013, 11:03 AM CDT

Window cleaner Michael St. Pierre says his safety training really paid off as he hung multiple stories above Second Street in Harrisburg this morning, just after 9:00 a.m..

“My seat didn’t stay under my butt,” is how he explained what happened Wednesday morning as he worked to clean the windows of the Penn National Building.

St. Pierre says he has no idea how long he hung on his safety ropes. “It could have been 3 minutes it could have been 15,” he said.

Members of the Harrisburg Fire Department made the rescue and he is doing fine today.

St. Pierre works for Performance Services Incorporated and was not injured.  He asked to go back to work but his company thought he should take the day off before he returns to the job of cleaning high rise windows.
