Depsite the chillier temperatures, there's a relatively new ice cream parlor in Cumberland County you may want to try. It's a family-run business - with profit on the back burner, and community involvement in the forefront.

At Dippin' Dairy in Lemoyne, you'll find dozens of flavors of ice cream like "Superman," Playdough," and "Muddy Sneakers!" And you'll often see the shop's owner, Stan Schaffner, making his famous *blueberry* wafflecones from scratch ... one by one!

When he's not doing that, he's adding your picture to his "Wall of Fame."

"(The pictures of our customers are) what it's all about. People come in, get their ice cream, put a smile on their face - that's what it's all about," says Schaffner."

A family-run business, Dippin' Dairy's goal is to provide quality products with good old-fashioned personal service. And giving back is the philosophy they live by.

"It is the community that's supporting us, so why not give back to them," says Schaffner.

The week of Thanksgiving, Dippin' Dairy is giving out two-hundred boxed dinners to folks throughout the community who are in need.

"What we're trying to do is get the community to BE a community. Know your neighbor, talk to your neighbor," says Schaffner.

And while you're at it, share a cone ... or two.

The boxed turkey dinners are going to people with Meals on Wheels, Center for Independent Living, local schools, and churches. The store plans to do another food give-away at Easter.
