Man steals boat motor, tries to get it repaired on his own boat
A Lebanon County man is facing charges for stealing a boat.
Police say Chad Stauffer, of Lebanon reported his boat was stolen on February 27.
The boat and boat trailer were recovered two days later but without the motor. The motor was valued at $12,000.
Police say Ryan Shay, of Lebanon tried to take 'his boat' to "Riverside" for repairs. Riverside called Yamaha for parts and submitted the motor serial number to order the correct parts. Yamaha informed Riverside the motor was stolen.
Shay was arrested and charged with one count of receiving stolen property. He was arraigned and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
