Stealing to pay off your daughter's drug dealer. That was the defense for a man in a York County court room.

Daryl Dissinger says his daughter got involved in drugs and when her dealer threatened her, he stole for his daughter.

48-year-old Daryl Dissinger is free on bail until his sentencing, but wasn't answering the door at his West Hanover Township home.

He was in a York County court room Monday, pleading guilty to a felony theft by deception charge.

Prosecutors say Dissinger stole more than $50,000 from his employer, Range End Golf Club in Dillsburg.

He told the judge he stole the money in 2011 after threats from his daughter's heroin dealer. In essence, he stole to pay off his daughters dealer.

Dissinger said the dealer later died of a drug overdose.

Dissinger has not been sentenced; a judge has ordered a full pre-sentencing investigation.
