It's the first day of March Madness and people from across the Susquehanna Valley weren't about to miss the action.

All you had to do was take one step in a sports bar to see just how excited people were for the games.

For 2 p.m. on a Thursday, Arooga’s was packed. Everyone there was talking about the method to their madness.

“I generally go with teams I like, Pitt grad cheering for Pitt right now but not looking good, down at half,” explained Chad Althoff.

“Bracket pick is Duke,” commented Brandon Snyder.

Speaking of friends, at one table the sport really is all in the competition.

“Ultimately, we hope our teams play each other so we can get tog and watch our team,” one person told us.

“It's just fun we love coming out for camaraderie, drinking beer picking against each other, that's probably more fun than games is picking on each other and rooting against other guys,” chuckled one of the people watching.

Brandon Snyder loves his team so much, he's on his way to Philadelphia to see Duke play.

“It's on the bucket list to see Coach K for the first time, dream to see him play and live,” Snyder added.

The way he and his friends see it, it only happens once a year so you might as well shoot to enjoy it.

“Just a great time, coming out ragging on each other, a lot of fun,” concluded Nate Koch.
