Recap: South Florida vs. Western Mich

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Brandon Pokley scored 15 points as the Western Michigan Broncos defeated the South Florida Bulls, 58-53, to win the South Florida Invitational at USF Sun Dome.

Pokley was 6-of-8 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range in the victory for the Broncos (4-1). Darius Paul contributed 14 points and eight rebounds while Nate Hutcheson added 11 points but shot only 4-of-12 from the floor.

Shaun Noriega led the Bulls (2-2) with 16 points off the bench. Toarlyn Fitzpatrick added 14 points and six rebounds. Anthony Collins passed for a career-high 12 assists and grabbed seven rebounds to make up for his 1-of-5 shooting effort.

USF led 36-34 at the end of the first half after hitting 6-of-10 three-point attempts and shooting 55.0 percent from the field overall.

In the second half the Broncos battled back and outscored the Bulls 24-17, while USF shot 23.1 percent from the field and only hit 1-of-10 attempts from beyond the arc.

WMU, which hit on only 38.9 percent from the floor for the entire game, controlled the boards, 38-27, and limited the hosts to only three rebounds at the offensive end.
