Recap: St. Louis vs. Miami
Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - Greg Dobbs hit a solo home run in the second inning and knocked in two more runs in the fourth en route to a 3-for-3 day to start the Marlins' spring training off with a win as Miami defeated St. Louis, 4-3, on Monday.
Gaby Sanchez brought in the other Miami run, while Mike Stanton and Hanley Ramirez each finished 1-for-2 with one run scored. Josh Johnson started the game and went 1 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out two.
The Cardinals got all three of their runs during a ninth-inning rally that saw Matt Carpenter knock in two on a double and then Steven Hill bring Carpenter home on a single to center.
Carlos Beltran, Matt Holliday, and Yadier Molina went a combined 0-for-8, while starter Kyle Lohse yielded only one hit, albeit a home run, and struck out a pair in two innings of work.
