Recap: Chicago Cubs vs. Kansas City
Mesa, AZ (Sports Network) - Javier Baez smacked two of the five home runs hit by the Chicago Cubs in an 8-3 spring training win over the Kansas City Royals.
David DeJesus led off the game with a home run and Alfonso Soriano also went deep off Bruce Chen in the first inning, with that being a two-run shot. Alberto Gonzalez tacked on a solo blast off Chen in the fourth inning.
Mike Moustakas homered for the Royals, who had 11 hits, one less than the Cubs.
Chen (1-1) gave up nine hits and seven runs -- six earned -- over five innings.
Cubs starter Hisanori Takahashi (1-1) allowed five hits and a run over four frames.
