Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Stars announced three big-ticket additions to their organization on Thursday, chief among them all-time leading scorer Mike Modano.

Modano, the franchise icon and face of the team since its 1993 relocation to Dallas from the Twin Cities, was named an executive advisor and alternate governor.

"We had to get Mike Modano to the Dallas Stars," said team owner Tom Gaglardi. "He's the Wayne Gretzky of Dallas. He's the Wayne Gretzky of U.S. hockey. I'm so elated that Mike is coming on board. I dont think we can be successful in this market without Mike being a part of it."

Additionally, three-time Stanley Cup champion Mark Recchi was brought on as an advisor to the hockey operations department, while former Stars goaltender Marty Turco was hired as a television analyst.
